Straight answers on NMC rules, NEET requirements, and NEXT eligibility.
Yes. You must qualify NEET to study MBBS abroad and practise in India. The minimum is 50% in PCB (general), 40% for SC/ST/OBC. No NEET means you cannot appear for NEXT.
Not yet. As of 2026 you must still clear the FMGE to practise in India. The NMC's NEXT exam is meant to replace it but was deferred ~3–4 years (announced Oct 2025), so the earliest realistic rollout is ~2028–29 — no firm date is confirmed. Plan for FMGE for now. See our FMGE & NEXT guide and the latest at nmc.org.in.
Yes. It must appear in WDOMS (search.wdoms.org) and on India's NMC list (nmc.org.in). A WDOMS listing alone is not enough — cross-check both.
At least 54 months of study + 12 months internship — 66 months minimum. Accelerated or shorter courses don't qualify for NEXT.
Realistically ₹35–60 lakh all-in over 6 years for most NMC countries — far below a private Indian seat. See our full cost breakdown.
